Some Days...

I have to admit, with this Ironman-thingy, there are some days when I feel like this...

While, during others - everything just 'clicks' and I can't keep the grin off my face...

Today I was lucky enough to have not one, but two stellar workouts. And for someone right smack dab in the middle of two Ironmans - well, that's enough to make me jump for joy.

This road hasn't been easy, and I never for a minute thought that it would be. There have been times in the recent few weeks where I barely thought I could get through (let alone finish) long and hard sessions. But through it all, I've tried to remember the good things; why I'm out here in the first place, doing a sport that I love. As long as I've kept it upbeat and positive - in spite of feeling like shit while climbing some big-assed stupid hill in the middle of no where - I've been happy.

Because at this time last year - I never, not for a minute, imagined that I would be here. And that's reason enough to celebrate.

Want something else to celebrate? How about a Cappuccino Rittersport in the middle of an Alaskan Hike? Huh? This chocolate treat was brought to you by Nathaniel. And no, you can't have him, because he's mine!

(Even if he's unwilling to hold girly-shopping bags in the middle of Victoria while I take yet another picture.)

I love you too, but won't carry a Lush bag either. Now I want a Twix bar. Damn it...

By the way, I really should commend you on the length of this post. I'm very impressed ;P

Yes I agree with D. Today's workout must have been very short for you to have the focus for this post. NOW before you think that I prefer short posts, I Dont. I Just know that some days there are other things to do, like spend time with that wonderful chocolate man purse phobic hubby. Bring him home when you come!

Ha ha poor Nate. Shaun is often seen sheepishly holding my handbag whilst I "do stuff". Cappucino ritter??? Sounds delicious.

I am so glad you had great workouts today. I am so so excited for you and can't wait to see you do so amazingly well in Kona. Yay!!!

Your legs look rediculously long in that picture..... is a stretching machine part of training now????

(come to clearwater)

Love that first pic, but I'm hoping it wasn't taken yesterday because if it was you were seriously overdressed! :) (or maybe you're doing your Kona heat training?)

By the way- LOVE the random thought.

I was thinking the same thing as Roo - "did Marit have to wear tights on her run yesterday???" Oh no, I guess that was an older picture. :) Anyway - I can even begin to imagine how tough training for not 1 but TWO IMs in a year is but if anyone can handle it's you and your awesome attitude!! And in all honesty - you are almost there!!! Crazy!! Keep up the great work!

Just to clarify - yeah...the picture on the top is an old one...from when we lived in Pensacola. NOT doing anything silly like that for Kona training! :) I just like it, because it totally captured how tired I was... So - there you have it! Thanks for the comments... :)

Heat training...gives me a thought: Come to VA Beach! It's in the 90s and hot hot hot. Perfect Kona training weather. I'm here till Labor Day and will happily keep you company on your workouts (provided I can keep up!)

At least he's not holding your purse or something because that would just push it over the edge!

Yay for good workouts!

Yummmm, Rittersport.

And don't you just love those days when pushing hard makes you feel so good? Makes you forget the days when going hard doesn't feel so good.
