Just got the sad news that Sir Edmund Hillary, native New Zelander, humanitarian, honorary Nepalese citizen, explorer, adventurer, philanthropist, and mountaineer has passed away.
What a life he lead! The epitome of a Kiwi!!
I think New Zeland's Prime Minister, Helen Clark said it best when she commented, "He was an heroic figure who not only 'knocked off' Everest but lived a life of determination, humility and generosity."
To Sir Edmund: who not only stood atop the world, but enriched the lives of thousands of others, simply because he was moved - beyond words - and wanted to make a difference. You will be missed. But we will never forget you and what you have done.
